I successfully changed the 3.6V lithium battery in this Videocipher 2 plus descrambler board. I cut a hole in the top of the case because I thought that would be easier access than to hack through the epoxy along all the seems between top and bottom lids. Then I soldered the new battery across the old battery while the descrambler was plugged into the IRD and running (I have an extension cable to allow hook up of the module outside the IRD). Then I cut out the old battery. Left the unit unplugged for the night and in the morning it still retained the unit ID key in the module. All is working fine.
