Don,
Check for poor ground connections on preamp section, first. If there's a place
for a screw there, replace
the screw and try it. Flex the ribbon cable and see if symptoms improve.

Subject: [TechAssist] VCR, Go Video DDV9550 looks like bad heads

Hello all, Playback of known good tape (movie) on deck 2 has video noise, I
cleaned heads but no cigar, then switched heads from deck 1 to deck 2 and put
deck 2's heads in deck 1, deck 2 side still has the noise so I am ruling out
bad heads. The noise looks like stars with tails across the screen. Has anyone
seen this? Any help is appreciated.
