OK here's what I found: My HP scanner program allows me to scan as a
"text" or "B&W Drawing". That greatly reduces the size from 10-15 megs
to a smaller 900k or so. Then if I want I can zip that even smaller.I
can also convert it to a PDF format instead of zipping it.This also down
sizes it greatly.I was using a setting that scanned any color
information.This is why the large size.Not necessary for most diagrams.
