Ken, Not sure if this helps, but here goes: Sony,DVPNS400D,DVD,Unit powers off to standby mode after a few seconds or after disk is loaded*Does not initialize,To initialize*1*Turn on laser*2*Focus on disk*3*Move sled outward*4*Spindle starts to rotate and displays *no disk*,The focus coil never moves during initialization in this case,The problem is due to failure if IC302 the ARP. SERVO DSP.,The focus control signals have failed and replacing IC302 usually solves this problem,,,,,,,, Jeff Dougherty Intrepid Video TV/VCR 263 S Front St Steelton PA 17113 fax...717-564-4952 www.intrepid-video.com www.tech-repair.net ----- Original Message ----- From: "K Dinckan" <kdinckan@xxxxxxx> To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, June 23, 2003 3:56 AM Subject: [TechAssist] Sony dvd dvp-ns700p Unit turns on and display comes on when eject button pressed and flashes one time SONY DVD and stays off until eject button pushed again. Tray won't open and no functions. I have repaired another model Sony dvd by replacing some caps on main board. This might be similar problem but I don't have the print. I will check more caps and voltages. If anyone worked on this model and experienced same problem?
