Phillip,

Sony # 3-736-147-01 is the part number I show for them. Almost everyone
sells them as they arer a high failure rate part.

Subject: [TechAssist] Sony SLV-778HF VCR needs a "threading gear"?

Opened the unit and saw the right side arm that pushes the right load
arm forward had come loose. This turned out to be a white plastic gear
that split in half. The tech referred to this as the right"threading
gear".Function is to make the right load arm go forward and wrap the
tape around the video head for play. Said it's a common breaking gear.
(there's one for each side)I could not find the so named gear on the
Tritronics site under the model number. Need assistance, please.
