This is tough one! I thought of the coupling caps etc, already.
I resoldered everything as well for good measure.
I'm thinking  maybe a  transformer problem or  the new strs6301
is junk. I rather doubt that to be the case though, since the original
symptom  remains. Yep, it's ring time for the xfmr...
