Go to the member pages, find the Sony RA-6 chassis and ask for a download of the schematic. Hi Y'all... This set starts out with a nice, normal picture, but as it plays, it gets darker and darker, to the point where it's hard to see. The set is only about three or four years old, but I inspected it for bad solder at the interconnects between the sweep and signal PCB's and it looks good. I can warm the area around the jungle chip (IC309 from a cold start and produce the effect more rapidly than through normal playing, especially if I directly warm IC309. If I cool IC309, the brightness returns almost immediately. Problem is, I already replaced it for that reason, and the problem remains. I just found out today that I could also get pretty much the same effect by stimulating the surrounding chip transistors and a couple of 'lytics near it (Q374, Q367, C488, C494).Replaced those also, no help. I don't have a schematic and the customer is getting upset. Has anyone seen this before or have any Sony-inspired advice?
