Don,
Bridging a damaged off value resistor to bring it to the correct value works
for temporary testing but it is still bad and will probably continue going
up in value, granted maybe not as fast but that is not proper repair that
will go bad again. Always best to replace it. Hey I am not saying bridging
is bad if you need a value that is not available but use new good resistors
for all. Just my two bits worth.
