Swapped both vertical and horizontal with same trapezoidal shape. How
does the yoke fail so that it gives such a strange picture? Both the
vertical and horizontal yokes ring good on my Sencore. Thanks.

A few years ago...answer would have been yes. With Pincussion circuits,
answer is now 50%.
A quick test...change the leads (Vertical) on the yoke or the plug,
if
the configuration of the trapezoid remains the same, it's the yoke. Your
next question will be can I remove the yoke and screw one
on.....No....all
will give you poor convergence.
