Do you have B+ to the vert IC? Don't mean to insult your intelligence, but you could also check the diode that connects pin 1 or 7 to the other let of the vert IC to see if the volts are present there to. I have also seen a bad tuner cause a loss of vert in those older Sanyo's you can desolder the tuner and see if you get your scan back. Hope this helps and let me know about the B+.
