I can get into front panel unlock but when I punch it in, the display returns to
front panel locked.
Anything I am doing wrong.

Sound like parental control is turned on. Using the remote, go into the menu
to the parental control options. Turn it off, or if it has front panel
lockout, be sure it is off as well.
