RCA VCR PSVR61 (by Toshiba (?))
Problem - Willl take tape and load. If FF or REW is pressed, will
function OK. Hit 'Stop' - try REW or FF - mech sounds like it is running
but no tape movement and ERROR comes up in display. Unit goes into a slow
rewind mode for about 30 seconds and no buttons function. Tape guides
unload; unit powers down.
Upon powering up, tape loads and will play or FF/REW. Will go into Play
normally. Can hit STOP and then go back to Play - no problem- but will
ERROR on trying REW/FF. Can do SEARCH functions in play mode - no
problem.
Normally, with these symptoms, I would accuse the mode switch. But in
this unit. looks like the mode select is of the optical interrupt type
selected by the cam.
Resoldered the sensors but no better.
