Shaun,

I had one of these in the other day for warranty repair. Same symptom as
yours. Maybe you will get lucky and have the same problem. Check IC401 pin
24. It is a surface mount chip on the board sticking out in the air above
the tape deck. It should have about 10v. If not I found that although none
of these parts checked bad changing them fixed my problem: Electrolytics
C411 and C410 and D402 p/n 248145 (7.5v zener) Q401 p/n 212671 (ktc3203y).
