was beginning to think bad tube, but it sounds like it can be fixed. Thank

I've used this technique numerous times to fix this problem,
With the set unplugged,and the CRT PCB off the tube,run a Jumper from
the G2 pin of the picture tube to ground,Attach one end of another jumper
to the Focus
pin of the picture tube,the other end of the jumper to a well insulated
screw driver.
Plug set in,turn on to let HV build,unplug the set and discharge the Anode
onto the
Focus pin.Remove Jumper and check TV for proper G2 and Focus adjust.
Repeat if necessary.
On tubes with 2 focus pins,repeat on the second focus pin
