[TechAssist] RCA DTV 306

This direct view 38" came in with a very dark and
out of focus picture.
Focus and screen controls had little effect.
I replaced the focus and screen control
assembly(tech support says that it is high
failure), and no help.
I measured the screen and focus voltages with the
crt board off the tube and they seemed normal.
Tech support was certain of a bad crt.
Thomson shipped one and I installed it.
Now the set "looks" like it is out of sync.
The G2 voltage is running low, and if I try to turn
it up, the set will shut down.
I can turn it up to the listed voltage with it
removed from the tube.
Does anyone know how to set the Horizontal
frequency?
I can get my Chipper Check to work on this set, but
can't get in the service mode(value 200) because I
can't read anything on the screen.
