That reminds me of a capacitor in the Vertical blanking circuit. If you 
turn up the screen control slightly and get a slick
screen and retrace I bet its that capacitor. It's been to long ago to 
give you the part location. It was near front edge of
circuit board in vertical circuit with a value of 220m/35v
