Does anyone know exactly how to access the service menu on the A5-K series Pioneer chassis? The set is still in the customer's home 22 miles away and I would like to know the exact procedure. I may have to order the service manual if no one has one. Thanks. Kevin, Here is some info I have collected in my data base. Try this: Get into factory menu by pressing pinhole on front (cmt on bottom right appears) pressing mute goes to color, then pressing # keypad toggles from color to tint to........( Pressing mute a second time, "might" get you into the convergence menu ). Also check this out: Convergence Amp assembly is located in back of set on a side-mounted stand up board on the left signal board. Cure: Problem is on Amp Assy. Resolder transistors and regulators that are mounted to the heat sink and replace one or both convergence output ICs (STK392-110). Models Covered: SDP50A3K, SDP50A3Q, SDP50A5K, SDP55A5K, SDP62A3K, SDP62A3K, SDP62A5 One more thing: On SOME brands of PTVs, Adjustment of the Vertical Ht., & horz width contols, can effect the sides, and, or, corner convergence. Cover Blue, and Red CRTs, and try to adjust the Vert HT, and Horz width, by looking at the Green CRT only. Once the Green looks OK, then converge the Blue, and Red to the Green.
