In "tuner" mode the video hunted,off freq, like defective AFT or bad
tuner.
Customer said it would clear up as it warmed,but now it's off tune all
the time.
When it did ocassionally come in, it was distorted. In video "line in"
input with a DVD player showed a pretty god picture.
On the signal board, located the tuner, behind it is a small Sony IF
module.
Inside this "IF Pack" locate two electrolytics C22 and C26 both .47/50V.
Replaced both. Cured the hunting.
Now... Finish with a removel and a TOTAL resoldering of both main
boards, signal and deflection ( a magor job)or it WILL come back.
Done and lookin good.
All in a night's work.
