Just a thought, make sure you use original semiconductors and not generics
in critical areas like deflection and power supply. I replaced the horiz.
output transistor on a Panasonic once with a generic and it did this exact
thing (got hot, pulled in, shutdown).
Replacing again with the original part solved the problem.
