Kevin,
Is there audio at the audio output jack? in both modes? if so, the RF
modulator or power to it. may be bad
If not, the switching IC or power to it may be bad. Does what it records on a
tape play in other VCR's if not it is in circuits shared by both play and
record. Just Suggestions.
