I have a problem set at a local bar. The complaint is that the picture goes dark intermittently and will go back to normal brightness. The set is up on a shelf with little room to move it in a small corner that would be tough to service even on the floor. The Super Bowl is around the corner and they sure don't want me to remove it here in the heart of Patriots Nation. Of course they are hoping to have it repaired by the Super Bowl! I did make a service call and did not observe it going dark, however, it did appear to be too bright (I suspect the transistors on the CRT boards). I was only able to remove the front cover to inspect the chassis and took a good look for any evidence of CRT coolant leakage and could not find even the smallest trace. My 200 volt line was reading about 221 volts. I know there are those of you with much more experience on these sets than myself. I found nothing relevant on the Mitsubishi website or in WINSTIPS. Unfortunately I can't give you more than this presently but I am hoping someone has some ideas given the circumstances under which I must work on it.
