Mitsubishi SVHS VCR model HSU61, came in with tape jammed in it. Found that the cam-lifter assembly was seized by that black grease, so I cleaned that all up ok. Found 2 things rattling around in the unit. One was a piece of hinge from the cassette door and the other is a small white nylon piece which I can't find where it broke off from. Infact, I have a scrap Mits VCR with similar mechanism and I can't find anything like it on there either. The nylon is the same color as the parts in the VCR mech. so I am not suspecting it is a foreign object. The VCR seems to work fine without it. Have tried play, record, rew, eject, etc. and everything seems to work but I'd prefer to find out where this piece fits. I looked at the cam lifter, brakes, cassette basket (altough I have not removed the basket), etc. but no sign of where this belongs.
