I've seen speakers completely locked up(cone won't
move) because the voice coil overheated and
shorted.
That will kill an output stage.
I've never actually worked on a marshall, but the
idea should be close to peavey and fender.
Check the resistors and caps, and look it over for
cold solder.
Just like everything else.
