I stand corrected.
That's what happens when you ASS_U_ME instead of confirming.  The set has a
Toshiba labeled crt and tuner along with several IC's.  Also the customer
told me it was a 35" but I think it is actually a 32" set.
I have taken the advice of several and soldered the connectors to the crt
board even if they looked alright but no help.
I have made a bit of progress on this.  I can get a picture with the rgb
driver collectors running at 146 volts by adjusting what appears to be a
brightness range control.  However, with scene changes it flares out of
brightness stability.  I am leaning towards the ABL circuit.  There also is
no changes in the picture when I vary the brightness or contrast but OSD
indicates changes.  It appears that possibly it is all controlled by the
jungle chip.
Without the literature, I am guessing.  I would replace the chip but no one
locally has it and of course the customer is expecting to have his set back
today.
