Look on the bottom of the open cassette basket. There is a rivit-like piece which is probably bent . This holds the basket in the proper lock position when it closes. When it's out of alignment you will experience a problem like you described. I was told a child tried to load a tape and now it doesn't work. When I insert a tape and try to close the loading door, it should lock in place and pull the tape down. The loading assy door will not lock in place, and even if I hold it in place, it will not pull down the tape. If I hold the door in place as I turn the unit on, it will pull down the tape. I see a pin on the side that looks like something should be holding it. I don't do many camcorders so I'm not sure exactly how this mechanism should work. Does anyone have mech. diagrams of this unit or could someone tell me exactly were I should be looking. > > Chad > Griffiths TV/VCR > Schenectady, N.Y. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- > Jokes, complaints, off topics, general chat.
