Steve,

The matching transformer is pretty standard, just low Z to high Z.  The
low Z side has an XLR connector (3-pin Canon); the high side with an
Amphenol or 1/4" phone plug.  Will need an adaptor for mini-phone plug. 
Don't remember the stated high impedance, but greater than 2K is referred
to as high Z.  The low Z is balanced and can be run great distances
without loss of frequency response and less chance of picking up EMI.
