True, other than multipath may be more of a problem, therefore a more directional antenna in close range and more careful tuning of direction in general may be necessary. Also, may ATSC transmissions are not yet at full power, so you may need more gain than typical UHF reception. In a case like 80 miles out, you will likely need the most gain and the highest install that you can get.
