Batman
Magnavox Combo Fix
Fri Nov 21 2003 3:19:12 pm
67.73.136.171
Model # MC194DMG01...manufactured Jan 03.
The set would shutdown within 5 or 6 seconds, not enough time for a
picture to show.
Found the 12v stand-by was being pulled down to 3 volts or so.
Solution: The capstan motor was bad.
You can disconnect the ribbon connector for the motor and now the set
will come and play for about 15 to 20 seconds.
The service manual doesn't show anything on the motor drive circuit
board, so I really don't know if it was the motor or the drive circuit.
Part # 4835-362-17044 complete
