This unclaimed repair has been stored here three months.Orig.
symptom:Volume would rise to max,can't lower.May change channels all by
itself, and may turn itself off. First I replaced the 5V reg IC602
(KIA7805),then found several tactile switches at front bad (vol up was
one). Unit ran and played tapes good a week,then storage. Now, will play
TV OK all day. Sometimes,when a tape inserted,can hear the
mechanisms,awaiting for play,then in 5 sec. shuts power off. Power on
again and will eject tape. Once it "takes" will play tape to
finish,rewind OK and eject OK. Does this sound like the center I/R
lifgthouse, mode switch? what? -Phil
