I found out how to fix this Gateway GTW-P42M102 with the menu problem. 
Purchase a Viewsonic VPW425 on Ebay with a broken screen, remove the 
signal board, remove two missing connectors from the Gateway board and 
install on the Viewsonic board, swap out the mounting bracket and away 
it goes! Even the viewsonic remote works.
Also found out Gateways prices to replace the board on site, trip and 
labor 450.00, board 450.00, 900.00 total.
The Viewsonic set is not identical but is close.
