Speak for yourself.
I have never had recalls on the older ones and I have to do most in the homes
as they are usually
consoles.....take that back, I had one recall for a different problem.
If you call repairing bad solder connections 'shotgunning' then yes, I do a lot
if shotgunning.

No such thing as luck. Either you have the talent and expertesize to repair
it or you don't. I have seen that a lot hear, I call it shotgunning, not
troubleshooting.

I would go for it...just touch up the solder when you're done with it.

the customer is adamant about repairing it.
WinStips indicates that it is similar to a Pioneer

There aren't many case histories on either.
