Maybe others have had this happen, but it is a first for us. We take all credit cards and go through a company that processes all cards and deposits funds to our bank account. During the fall busy season we had guy call and say he was sending person in to buy a used TV and wanted to put it on his credit card. We took info over phone and it went through ok-person came in and bought TV. Now we found out that the purchase was with a stolen card or stolen card info. Our card processor told us we would be charged back for this transaction. So we lost the TV and also the price paid us for the sale! I got the agreement out and read it for first time--it says we can be charged back for any reason that may come along--looks like the customer has all the rights and we have none! We have learned a hard lesson from this--never do a card transaction over the phone for a third party, ask for ID , zip code, drivers license, etc. if in doubt. We do repair work and deliver TV to customer in home an take his card there--this looks safer. Credit card business is getting to be 50% of total sales and guess it is a fact we have to live with. The card company told us the crooks come out more at Christmas time! maintv2004@xxxxxxxxxxx Main TV 636 Main St Longmont, Co 80501 303-776-6955 Tel 303-776-0792 Fax ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lost Password: http://www.tech-assist.org and select "Login Problems?".
