I had a CD ROM the other day, that would blow the install after about the 2nd reboot. Some Cheap CD ROMs will drop certain .cab files during an install. They'll work fine for most things but not a fresh install... Also, I've had to run fdisk on several drives before attempting to install Windows 9X on several machines. For some reason, some low level formats will not address the boot sector or will leave "something" that it doesn't like. It's probably a waste of time in some cases, but I nearly always fdisk before an install. Hope this helps Doug Wynn atetech@xxxxxxxxx --- royalprince <royalprince@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > Hello > Bary > > Why not..and format the whole thing again. In case > the problem is persisting > after loading windows. Then change your memory. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Barry Thompson" <barrystv@xxxxxxx> > To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Wednesday, October 23, 2002 1:33 AM > Subject: [TechAssist] Computer Crash > > > > > > Hi all: Trying to run windows after a low level > format and repartition.
