What I do is (cd motors in general) spray WD-40 into the motor and then
apply about 10V to the motor for about 20 seconds, then reverse the
leads and apply for another 20 seconds. This tends to remove oxide built
up in the motor and gets it running smoothly again. Haven't had one come
back.
