Still working on this unit. I soldered the components on the cylinder motor, checked for debris, soldered power supply area including Q805 and IC604 and placed a thin film of Q-Dope on each side of the ribbon cable to make a tighter fit, still, the heads will not rotate once in a while. Could the motor driver IC(IC604?) be intermittent? It seems to act up the first time I insert the cassette only...2nd time OK. If I let it sit 10 minutes or so, it does the same thing....acts up first time, second time rotates. Thank you. After a rew attempts and flexing the ribbon connector on the motor it worked. While trying to localize the bad connection I can not get it to act up again and the cylinder rotates every time. I have flexed the ribbon cable at both ends as well as both connectors and the motor section, but I can not get it to stop working. Has anyone any case histories on this...solder the motor PCB, connectors or replacing the ribbon cable? Also ruled out bad connections on Q805. Thanks.
