Adam: You forgot to mention that we have a Grainger's account at the local
store here on Harrison near Mulford. I don't know if you like using them but
they came in handy when we built the pit framework. The account is billed
direct to Community Foundation of Northern IL. I can provide details to you
and Jaime if you need them. I believe you can order from their website and
have delivered to this store.

FYI....

This year we will need students to be more active in locating the materials
needed to build and design our robot. There are many links to suppliers on our
team website at: http://rockfordrobotics.com/Resources.htm

Below I have placed an asterisk next to the places that I would go to first
when looking for parts. Here are the primary places that I look for certain
items:

Gearboxes, motors, wheels, wheel hardware, sprockets
*www.andymark.biz<http://www.andymark.biz>
www.banebots.com<http://www.banebots.com>
www.mcmaster.com<http://www.mcmaster.com> (all sorts of parts. their
sprockets are steel, so if we can find aluminum ones else where we are better
off, but they have good selection)
www.smallparts.com<http://www.smallparts.com>

Electronics, sensors, connectors, wiring, motor controllers
*www.andymark.biz<http://www.andymark.biz> (kit items, jaguar motor
controllers, almost all the things we need)
www.ifirobotics.com<http://www.ifirobotics.com> (victor motor controllers
and some other electronics)
*www.digikey.com<http://www.digikey.com> (sensors, potentiometers, any
non-standard sensors that we might need)
www.ni.com<http://www.ni.com> (CRIO supplier)

Metal
*www.liebovich.com<http://www.liebovich.com> (local metal stock supplier)
www.mcmaster.com<http://www.mcmaster.com> (online metal stock supplier)
www.80-20.net<http://www.80-20.net> (extruded aluminum, linear bearings,
"the industrial erector set" - This stuff is nice, but it is heavy so less
preferred than hollow tube stock. See the lift system on the claw bot.)

Pneumatic cylinders & accessories
www.bimba.com<http://www.bimba.com> (cylinders)
www.andymark.biz<http://www.andymark.biz> (other kit parts)

Misc (all local stores)
www.lowes.com<http://www.lowes.com>
www.menards.com<http://www.menards.com>
www.homedepot.com<http://www.homedepot.com>
www.hobbytown.com<http://www.hobbytown.com>
www.radioshack.com<http://www.radioshack.com>

Hopefully this will help get the team surfing and looking around to find out
what kind of parts are out there. I would also encourage everyone on the team
to sign up at www.chiefdelphi.com<http://www.chiefdelphi.com> ... this forum is
the best for FIRST, and people will answer very specific questions if you have
them. We don't want to give away any secrets to our design on here, but if we
need help it is often a good place to look.
