[TCUG] Re: Solar & Wind Powered VAS's

The main problem we've had is that the local speed partnerships insist on
setting the threshold speed 1 mph above the speed limit. The signs are then
activated so often that the power source never has time to recharge the
batteries. We are now replacing our renewable power sources with mains
supplies.

Do any other authorities have any problems with solar and wind powered
VAS's holding their charge during the winter months?
