So was there a reason it couldn't happen at Black Rock? Haven't different clubs
been launching out there every month?

just gather dust for who-knows how long. Aaaaaargh!!!! Oh Well! Maybe next

Hi Everyone,
I was hoping to have some good news for today about our October Skies
launch, unfortunately we're going to need to cancel the event this year (both
in Fresno and BRD).
- Fresno "now in the Red" means we're 300% worse than when we shut down in
March - real Hazards still exist.
- Staying in compliance with City and State ordnance means I now need to
operate and manage a HAZMAT team in addition to launch operations.
When you look at the logistics of what's required to run a launch of this
magnitude and also stay in
compliance with COVID safety & social distancing requirements, it's almost
impossible even if I had the additional volunteers required to pull it off.
Please stay tuned in the months ahead, we're hoping we can have a Christmas
Party and open up early next year.
Thank you all very much for your patience and understanding - stay safe and
hope to see you all soon!
Best regards -James

they open up the restrictions I'd say everyone hang on for another 24hrs

James,
I’ve replied twice off-list to jafrado@xxxxxxxxx to say I cannot attend and
should be taken off the log so that someone on the wait list can take my spot.
I haven’t received a reply, so I’m not sure if my off-list replies are not
getting to you or if there just hasn’t been a reply. So I’m sending this final
reply to the whole list just to be sure it is getting through and someone else
can take my spot and start making plans.

Hi TCC, James and all,
We should also ask at this point for everyone on list to re-commit if
coming, move through the waitlist as possible so people have time to prepare.
I need to drop out, just got handed the personal/work combo schedule problem
and can't do this on the October timing, looking forward to launching at Maddox
Dairy.
Blanked my space #9 on sheet, but will leave it up to you to process through
waitlist and other people who have to cancel.
Hope you guys have great conditions!

Hi Folks, Since time is of the essence, COVID is still looming, we have a
limited number of attendees, HUGE interest, we'd like to do the below to make
sure everything is fair and square: - If you've not flown at a TCC launch,
your name is not on the sign-in logbook (and therefore won't be on the
waitlist).
- This launch is intended for TCC regulars; since we're the only club
that does not charge a yearly membership fee, we will go by the club
database which means if you signed up for the TCC Chat after I made
this announcement, you're not going to make the waitlist.
- If you have not been to a Blackrock Desert (BRD) Launch before you should
pass on this launch (there will be minimal services and very few people
should you get lost or need to find your way).
- If you are not a flyer, you should not be on the list.
- Limit for non-fliers, your significant other - no exceptions
(Rocket families are excluded).
- Limit for Junior-TRA/NAR - your mentor or ride to the launch site.
- People who are only coming for 1-day should NOT be on the list.
- People who plan to certify need to contact Gary Walker, Richard King or
myself ASAP
and let us know that this is your intention. If you plan to come out
on Friday for a cert flight and that's it, this is not your launch,
we can do that when COVID clears up ... All this being said, could everyone
send me email off-list so that I can update
the waitlist? There are a few people who are regulars who would like to come and
they need to make plans. Separately, I need to maintain my attendance list for
BLM verification.
Thank you very much for your understanding.
Best regards
-James

I was there last weekend for AeroPAC launch. They gave coordinates. I’ll
assume that TCC will be in the same or similar spot. You just drive to the
coordinates. The area is just so vast and there are no landmarks. Other than
the heat it was incredible. I’ve never seen so many stars. It was even easy
to see the Neowise comet with the naked eye. But I was able to get some great
shots with my camera too. <image001.jpg> On Tue, Aug 4, 2020 at 3:06

with). I would ask only to take one small (not large) rocket project or none at
all just to be there.
