Oh man I just saw that. He mentioned it gets really deep towards the center
but you can drive on the outside
of the water and it's ok ... I also got some email from Mike Motta on this
who lives 45 minutes from 12 mile and
he told me:


*My current feeling is that the playa will dry out in time for BALLS.
Outlying recovery areas that are prone to be wet will still be very wet and
muddy. The launch site should be fine although we will not have a
definitive answer on that till the playa is more accessible. As of right
now there's no reason to believe BALLS is a no go. I will have more time to
recon the area later in summer. There is also the Juplaya facebook page
where there are almost constant reports on the conditions. *

The mountains surrounding Black Rock and those that feed the Quinn are
pretty small and I would imagine they have shed most if not all of their
(above average) snowpack by now.
