There's also some fiberglass re-inforced heat wrap that you can get from an 
industrial hose place, it's good for up to 1200F.  If you go with Teflon Steel 
Braided line, it's good for 1400F.

The wrap tape will also work, but make sure you secure the ends with either a 
band clamp or a hose clamp.
