that is why i think it's crank case pressure, when i bought the alternator 
stand i bought one of those cheap filler neck things instead of using the stock 
piece with the drop down tube and the breather tube up top. the little empi 
crap thing i bought has one hole in it that goes straight to the carb...that's 
it. do you think that by replacing that with the stock breather/fillerneck that 
it will allieviate the problem? as far as oil on the exahust there is none, 
except for a bit under the vavle covers, but nothing to write home about. even 
with fresh new valve cover seals it still comes from somewhere. my vote is 
crank case pressure, i'll try and replace the filler neck tonight to see if the
