I found this for you.

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/archive/index.php/o-t--t-264608--.html

Something about wood blocks etc.  Maybe you can glean some more details out of that.

It's all plastic anyway and besides you'll just put like what, a Pink Elephant in the seat at shows?  ;-)

We did that already and I'd it as a probable Sears kit that I think that Bruce sold through Sears.  But it's not a "real" Myers.  It did have the shield extrusion on the hood which is what made it look like a real Myers.  My buddy talked to Jimmy Davis at my suggestion so I still don't know if a real Manx has any identifying tag on it anywhere.

Need some reasonably fast expert advice on a possible
real Manx. Does anyone on the list know how to tell a
real Manx from the clones. We are looking at one that
does have the protusion on the hood where the
Manx/Myers "coat of arms" was placed. Other than that
is there some other identifying tag, serial number or
whatever to id a real manx?

No, I am not buying one. This is for a friend.
