Check the shift coupler on the nose of the tranny. this will give you all kinds
of problems if it is worn out.

anyway,

YAY!!!! got the windshield back in hershey drove it around the block it ran
like shit so i adjusted the points checked the timing and no more squeeky
distributor and it runs like a champ again. 2 months of sitting is hard on a
bus.

wired open the heater boxes. wired shut the fresh air vents.

one problem i have no first. well i do but i have to mash down on the stick
like i am going into reverse. i have adjusted it a bit and can get it into
first by going through second but no other way. which way should i adjust
the shifter. it is as far back as it will go and still no first. can the
reverse lock out plate be causing it? it is facing the right direction i
have already checked. can you adjust that plate with out adjusting the
shifter part?

honestly i haven't gotten the book out yet so that may be the answer to the
problem but i figured it is monday and i wanted to see some interesting
funny responses to my questions. plus i am still trying to catch up with
paul.
