Received as a Christmas gift Thinking Small by Andrea Hiott-Random House.
Great
addition to the library of any VW lover.  Not so much a read about the car
itself as a look at the philosophy, economics, and the various underlying
factions and factors that led to the development and ultimate success of the
car.

Has a lot of insight into the inner workings of four people who had a great
deal
of influence on the life, times, and success of the VW:  Porsche, Hitler,
Nordoff, and Bernbach (lead partner in the ad firm of DDB-the VW ads); as well
as a lot of other people closely related to the life of the beetle.

You will know more about philosophy, economics, history, art and politics after
you read the book than you did before.

Lists for $26 hardback but have seen it on the web for $17-$18.
