Or you could be mindful that the world is a dangerous place and set your
security settings accordingly. I still get old friends from decades ago contact
me out of the blue. It can be creepy but if anyone wanted to find you or find
out when you weren't home there are other ways to find that out on the internet
IMHO

Well Dunk, I signed up for Facebook a couple of years ago, got to thinking
about it and "delisted" myself.  I don't think people realize the extent of
information technology.  Cops are using facebook to find perps, employer's are
using fb to flag prospective and current employees, burglars are using fb to
find when people are not at home, sexual deviates are using fb for who knows
what all.  Have noted several people telling the world when and where they are
going on an extended vacation, which means of course their house will be
unoccupied for that period of time.  A favorite for house burglars used to be
to look at the obituraries every day to find the time of funerals and a list of
relatives; of course during the time of the funeral those people were not at
home; ideal time to commit a house burglary.  Well heck, now all they have to
do is look on fb.  Just how many convicted sex offenders in the world are now
looking at your daughters photo
 on fb?

Please think and use common sense before posting anything personal on the
internet.
