Not vapor lock and not the DPO. This is something that was entirely my 
fault (with a little help from the local F.L.A.P.S.). 

Type 1 
Single port 
009 distributor 
38 amp bus generator 
H30/31 carb 
Incorrect oil bath air cleaner (the one without the spring and 
thermostat instead of with) 
Still no idea if it's a 1500 or if it's been rebuilt to 1600. Not 
pulling the heads just to find that out. 

The key is in the list of *new* parts. And none of them is bad, just 
one is the wrong part number (and it has no part numbers printed on the 
part itself, they were on the box which is long gone).
