I stayed at Wild Horse Thursday night when I went in '06. Went up the hill at the buttcrack of dawn Friday morning.

Electric? Showers? Not the same Jerome I've been to several times unless they made some significant changes between years 16 and 17. No showers, no water. Pack it in or buy it in town. It's on private property, not at a campground. Here's Don's site: http://www.goldkingmineghosttown.com/ (Big Bertha is used as the camp alarm clock. Give Don $5 and he'll fire her up -- 10,000 cubic inch gas engine --- 25 horsepower --- hill shaking backfire when he shuts her down.) and a review (biased for AZ travel advertising) http://www.travelsw.com/southwest-trips/southwest-trips-arizona/goldkingmine.htm The Jerome shoe is the second FULL (Fri/Sat/Sun) weekend in September so this year it's most likely the weekend of the 13th. TheSamba.com is the place to poke around for definite dates before they publish the flyer for the current year (usually not up until July some time).
