Check the choke mechanism to make sure it is fully opened when warm. Also, backfiring was it through the carb or exhaust? Check the valve adjustment and intake for vacuum leaks using carb spray at each junction while the engine is running. If the engine speed changes then you have a leak. -----Original Message----- From: Mark Jenkins Sent: Oct 22, 2007 2:03 PM To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [tcb] Re: Frost 80s ----- Original Message ---- From: Will Wood <evilscientistboo@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, October 22, 2007 8:02:34 AM Subject: [tcb] Re: Frost What were the ambient temps outside? -----Original Message----- From: wuzmop@xxxxxxx Sent: Oct 22, 2007 7:02 AM To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [tcb] Re: Frost You need to make sure a) your oil breather is hooked up to the air cleaner properly, and B) your preheater pipes are hooked up to the muffler and not clogged with carbon. Yes, this would cause the symptoms you have. -----Original Message----- From: Mark Jenkins <marktts88@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sun, 21 Oct 2007 9:42 pm Subject: [tcb] Frost Tech question on the way home from t@p I had very litte power even with a head wind and seemed to up hill all the way, we stoped about 100 miles in to the trip and i checked the oil and noticed that the intake was very cold with sweat .
