I called Bus Boys and talked to Walter (they rebuild steering boxes) and we
went through the symptoms and he told me it was a flat spot on the worm gear -
mostly from sitting (which this bus did for years) and I could replace the box
.

Thanks Everyone for their suggestions.

I have a clunk sound coming either from my steering box or inside the steering
column at the bottom of it ( maybe right above the steering box.) I move the
steering wheel side to side and hear this one clunk sound. This is stationary
not moving but I do hear the sound when I pull into my driveway turning the
steering wheel , Again one clunk and then it's gone.

I did change the drag link a few months ago and I can see that the swing arm is
not moving up and down at all when I turn the wheel back and forth .

The steering box is dry on the outside( no sign of leaks) I am going to check
the level in it in the morning. I will be at T@P with her and would welcome to
have someone look at it.

Or of you can point me to someone here in Houston that would be great. Trying
to figure what it is so I can fix it.
