I meant either one. A regular mixtape refers to a compilation of
songs, but often we talk about "mixtapes" in the collage sense of the
term, think rap/hip hop producers mixtapes. Often a lot of remixing
involved. But I was referring to any kind of mixtape.

Have any of you on this list ever made mixtapes using cassette
equipment? As much of a cassette-lover as I am, the first so-called
"mixtapes" I made weren't literally tapes, I was doing it digitally
since I began. But I am interested in the cassette mixtape culture as
well. Collage counts; so if you've ever taken clips from existing
sources and edited them together using a tape machine, I would like to
know. I have done this digitally, but this is a tape mailing list. Now
you're probably wondering why I even created the list; well, I have a
tape collection, and I can play them and I like their sound, I just
happen to not have a machine that records them at this time.
